Black Walnut Wedding Cookies

    1/2 cup shortening
    1/2 cup butter, softened
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup powdered sugar
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    2 cup flour
    3/4 cup Hammons Black Walnuts, finely chopped/ground

    Buy Black Walnuts


    Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a bowl, beat together shortening, butter and salt until well blended and fluffy. Mix in powdered sugar and vanilla until incorporated. Add flour and walnuts; mix well. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool on a rack. Roll in powdered sugar.
