Black Walnut Butter – As seen in Garden & Gun

2 cups of Hammons black walnuts

2 tbsp. plus 2 tsp. Hammons black walnut oil, peanut oil or grapeseed oil, plus more as necessary

Kosher salt, to taste


Preheat the oven to 310 degrees.

Roast the Hammons black walnuts on a baking sheet for 15 minutes, and then add them to a food processor with oil and salt. Blend until completely smooth. If the butter is too thick for the processor, add more oil, one scant tablespoon at a time.
