What are the differences between Black Walnut shell and English walnut shell?
Black Walnut shell is very thick and hard, while English walnut shell has a thinner, softer shell. Black Walnut shell has little-to-no pith, and English walnut shell has considerably more lightweight, soft pith or membrane.

How is the finished Black Walnut shell packaged?
Most shell is bagged in 50 lb. 3-ply paper bags. Normally, 40 bags are stacked on a 40” x 48” 4-way hardwood pallet. Other packaging options include a 2000 lb. mini-bulk bag.

What size shell should I use for blast cleaning and what works the best?
The most common sizes are 8/12, 12/20 and 20/30. However, there are many variables in blast cleaning, and the exact size used depends on application. We recommend you review a sample and try a test run, if possible, to get the best size and quantity needed for your application.

What air pressure should be used to blast clean?
Frequently, 80 to 100 PSI is used. The exact pressure depends on the type of surface being cleaned (metal, wood, stone, etc.), the material being removed from the surface, and the type of finish desired.
